WebDav auf Windows Server

Hi

Server 2008R2:
I am trying to map a shared folder by ">net use http://www.xxx.yyy/ /user:domain\name pwd" from a windows 2008 server. A ">net use \\server\share" works fine from this machine.

Win7:
The ">net use http://www.xxx.yyy/ /user:domain\name pwd" on a windows 7 works fine.

Win7 vs. Server 2008
On several pages such as http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/386/using-the-webdav-redirector/ I found some information on registry settings for webclient. But on my server there is no webclient service installed. On the windows 7 it is.

The server 2008 is used to develop sharepoint apps and a WebDav connection to an external sharepoint server is needed.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Sam

Hi Skaspar,

Try this (as per http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/386/using-the-webdav-redirector/):
Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

If you are using Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2, you need to install the Desktop Experience feature. To do so, use the following steps:

* Start the Windows Server Manager.
* In the tree view, highlight the Features node.
* In the details pane, click Add Features.
* In the Add Features Wizard, check the Desktop Experience 1) box, and then click Next.
* Click Install.
* When the Add Features Wizard has finished, click Close.
* Click Yes when promoted to restart the computer

Hope that does the trick for you. Please let us know.
